ABOUT BEACH HOUSE ARTS LIFE ENRICHMENT CENTER

Executive Director's Welcome,
Our mission is to empower, inspire, celebrate, and continue to raise social awareness and acceptance of individuals with Down syndrome and similar intellectual disabilities, by providing continued education in the arts, promoting life skills, and offering opportunities for involvement within the community.
We believe that education is life long and that our students have much to offer each other and to the community we live in. Many times our students are referred to as "kids" because society still views individuals with intellectual challenges as "young minded" or simply as "children". At BHA, we see our students as people who expect excellence and personal success (P.E.E.P.S.) and we make sure that BHA is the conduit to their success.
Welcome to your future!
Sabrina Beach
Executive Director

Our Philosophy

Dream without limits! BHA provides a safe environment for our P.E.E.P.S. to explore and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically and socially. Our P.E.E.P.S. are often asked about their personal dreams and interest to help us build curriculum and experiences that are relevant and exciting for them.
BHA chose the bumble bee as our mascot. Why?

Our History

In 2014, the Beach family began looking towards their daughter's adult life. Madison has Down syndrome and then 17, was exploring post high school options. Madison was and still is a performer at heart, not ready to work without supervision, limited with communication and loves school. Though San Antonio offers wonderful programs, the Beach family had a different vision of what adult continued education and enriched experiences would look like. BHA began with occasional weekend and night classes and monthly socials. Fast forward to present, BHA now offers a full day program with an innovative curriculum in many subjects and fun off campus excursions.
